The Department of Chemistry provides a strong foundation in applied chemistry to the Engineering Students. The Chemistry department has a well equipped, more spacious and good ventilated laboratory. The department has been recognised as a Research Centre by Anna University, Chennai. Our Faculty members are recognised supervisors and research scholars are doing Ph.D programmes under their guidance. To further our research endeavors, we have established a dedicated research laboratory specializing in water technology and sanitizing agents. Our staff members have published research articles in esteemed international and national journals, showcasing our commitment to advancing knowledge in the field.

In addition to research, our department has successfully secured funded projects and engages in industrial consultancy works, establishing valuable collaborations with industry partners. The curriculum imparts basic chemistry and knowledge in various fields in Water Technology, Electrochemistry & Corrosion, Surface chemistry, Fuels & combustion, Polymers, Nanomaterials and Environmental Studies.
